This photography exhibition is a tribute to our wonderful NHS & Key Workers who have worked tirelessly throughout the coronavirus pandemic and continue to do so.
Holly Stone’s photography exhibition pays tribute to the NHS & Key Workers. Come along on the 31st of July to see this incredible exhibition at our studios. This week we interview photographer Holly Stone to find out more about her exhibition.
How did this project come about?
I couldn’t stop thinking about those who were working on the front line of the crisis whilst most of us lived in lockdown at home, everyone had to adjust to life in a pandemic, but these people were working through it whilst coming to terms with that.
What makes this project so important right now?
The pandemic isn’t over, cases are rising and the front line workers job still continues. It’s important for society to remember and support the sacrifice that these amazing people have made, to help the sick, provide care and keep the country moving.
How will you be using the studio for you exhibition?
I can’t wait for the exhibition, Copperdollar Studios is a wonderful space and I am so excited to showcase my work there, its a beautiful space for a gallery viewing.
What was your favourite part about taking photos?
I love people, I have a natural curosity and love hearing peoples journeys and stories.
Who was someone you met that sticks out in your mind?
In the height of the pandemic in 2020 a particular nurse that I photographed for this project told me of her experience in ICU, she was smiley and engaging upon meeting but there was so much pain and fear in what she was telling me when I asked about her experience, it has stayed with me ever since.
What have you learnt this year that you’re bringing into your work?
I’ve learnt that socially distanced photo shoots do work! I adapted to a new way of working and its been a great learning curve, I believe you never stop learning.
What are you most excited for in the future?
Showcasing this project to as many people as I can and celebrating our wonderful NHS and key workers because they really are something.
This exhibition is on from 11 til 5pm this Saturday, the 31st of July. Be sure to come by and check it out! You can find more of Holly Stone’s work on her website or Instagram.
